As a result we move into our most exciting seasons yet in 2027 and 2028, we are shedding the “nicknames” and stepping fully into our grown-up identity as Tonga’s premier off-grid destination.
What Does Fanifo Lofa Mean?
To many, it’s a beautiful sound, however to us, it is a way of life. Fanifo (to surf) and Lofa (the Frigate bird/kite) translates to “Surf Kite.” It represents that perfect moment of suspension between the ocean and the sky. Furthermore it’s the feeling of a humpback whale breaching the surface, the pull of a kite in the trade winds, and the effortless glide of the Frigate birds that circle our island. We chose this name at the very beginning because it captured the soul of Uoleva—and today, that soul is stronger than ever.
